specifications. They're determined by your budget, the monetary or sentimental
value of the item being framed, the requirements needed for the item to be

Ziegler's uses quality matboard from Cresent, Larson-Juhl, and

Custom Design Mats - We can cut most any mat,
multi-openings, oval, arch, spandrel, cathedral, and many more. We hand cut mats
and also utilize our computer aided mat cutter for many jobs. Use your
imagination to make your frame job unique!

Drawn Lines - Gives a mat a more finished look.
Popular on etchings and botanicals. Lines can be ink, colored pencil, or paint.
Gold is the most popular color.
Book Paper - Book liner paper is a marbled paper
available in different colors cut into thin strips and applied around the
opening of a mat. Usually used with drawn lines.

Filets - Filets are small decorative wood strips
placed on the inner edge of a mat, and sometimes on the inner edge of a frame.
